10th Year Appeal
![]() In 2017 we celebrated a very special milestone - our 10th anniversary.
THANK YOU everyone who supported our tenth year anniversary appeal! 10 years of incredible fundraising, 10 years of tireless work, and '10 years of changing, transforming and saving lives', P2G had helped the likes of young patients at Oxford Children's Hospital, to those with brain injuries in the county at Headway, to children and neurological physiotherapy at Footsteps in Dorchester-on-Thames, raising funds for special computer games based technology for disabled children that SpecialEffect aid, to help fund head and neck cancer research and research into bone cancer, in memory of the incredibly brave late Alex Lewis, to others. OUR 10TH YEAR APPEAL RAISED A RECORD BREAKING £19,630! Coincidentally, the Oxford Children's Hospital also celebrated its tenth birthday throughout 2017. CHOX opened its doors to its young patients and their families on January 22nd 2007. As they launched their new £2 million fundraising campaign as part of Chox's own tenth anniversary, we helped to raise funds towards the building a new 62-bedroomed Ronald McDonald House, which will be based at the John Radcliffe Hospital site so more families can stay closer to their sick child, as well as new play areas and medical equipment such as state of the art monitors by each bed and specialised equipment to diagnose children with meningitis really quickly amongst more. |

By supporting one of our many events, organising your own event or taking on a sponsored challenge in 2017, you had helped P2G join the Children's Hospital's 10K Club as we managed to raise over £12,000 in 2017!
If we managed to raise £10k or more throughout the year, we now appear on a special celebratory plaque for the hospital's 10th anniversary, which will feature within the hospital.
We will also continued to support Headway Oxfordshire throughout 2017 of which we hoped to achieve £5,000 in total by the end of the year (we actually achieved a magnificent £7,000!) for this specialist brain injury charity which supports around 450 individuals and their families each year.
The funds raised contributed towards completing Headway's goal of creating the county's first neurological physiotherapy gym in the voluntary sector.
Events throughout our 10th anniversary year saw a very special black-tie ball to our last kids football tournament at Oxford City Football Club, skydivers taking to the air at 13,000-ft, runners in half marathons, spinathons, fun days, a Santa run on Milton Park, and more including our biggest ever 'Sleigh2Give' Christmas toy appeal.

For 2017 we were delighted to be chosen as the charity of the year 2017 by the Oxfordshire Guardian and The Oxford Paper, part of the Taylor Newspapers group. Throughout the year both papers heavily featured P2G's fundraising events, supporters efforts and our news to readers, whilst staff also help get involved in raising money to help make our anniversary year extra special and memorable, which they certainly did, as the partnership helped us in 12 months to raise a record £19,530.
