Charity Football Match - Saturday 19th March 2016
Headway Heroes v Play2Give Stars

Making Headway - that was 19 young and old footballers on Saturday March 19th as they came together pitch wise to raise money supporting Play2Give's fundraising goals - and what a goal in one our charity match was!
Our second match saw current champions P2G Stars take on the Headway Heroes side in a nail biting exciting and fun game which has raised funds for the brain injury charity, Headway Oxfordshire, together with the Oxford Children's Hospital.
Our first ever match in September 2014 saw a side from Sainsbury's Didcot made up of workers from the store take on our P2G Stars although for the supermarket squad it was a case of sour grapes and rotten bananas for them as they were defeated 20-1.
However, at Saturday's game, it was P2G Stars turn to face defeat as we lost 4-3 to the Headway Heroes side.
The P2G Cup, which was kindly sponsored by CK Patel, a top eye surgeon at the John Radcliffe Hospital in 2014, will now proudly sit in Headway's centre as pride of place and for Headway it was a brilliant achievement as the charity hasn't ever really won anything before.
It was a tense thriller of a game, as Headway opened up the game with a goal, and it wasn't looking good for our stars, however both teams thoroughly enjoyed the entertaining evening and over £157 was collected through players donations which will be split between both charities.
