First Football Tournament - 2007
25 November 2007
The very first football tournament was held in November 2007, when Play2Give was born.
The event, at Abingdon's Tilsley Park, saw 19 mens teams take part with the likes of Fox FM DJs, Oxford Mail journalists, ITV Thames Valley reporters, take on companies such as Sophos, RM, Siemens and Crowcon, to be crowned the ultimate tournament winner. The first fundraising effort raised £2,700 shared between Oxford Children's Hospital, Fox FM's Help an Oxfordshire Child and Heads Up, a head and neck cancer research fund based at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
