PictureGFA Enfield from London raised an amazing £1,500 for 2015's tournament
Our football tournament kicked off for another successful day this July - raising lots of smiles as well as cash for sick children!

19 boys teams in total took part on July 12th for the seventh annual football tournament, sponsored by Breckon & Breckon and Newbury Building Society, for Oxford Children's Hospital.

This is our biggest fundraiser of the year for the hospital, and as always there were plenty of smiles all round for what was another day of fanatic footballing fun.

The event, held as always at the fantastic grounds of our hosts, Oxford City Football Club, saw a fantastic £5,732 netted in and helped us reach a step closer to our £40,000 target for the Children's Hospital in which we aim to achieve to name our very own room on the teenage ward.

2014's tournament raised a record breaking £7,209 to fund extra state-of-the-art medical equipment and facilities at the Oxford Children's Hospital - making life and stays in hospital that little bit easier for the young patients and their families. The event supports all the wards and departments at the Oxford Children's Hospital as well as the Horton General's Children's Ward, and children's services across the Trust.

There was music from Radio Cherwell, our co sponsors Newbury Building Society and their very own lifesized furry and beary loveable Barry Bear joined in the fun with a mucky dip game, to another huge raffle with over 30 prizes - which yet again was another big draw - to a guess the number of sweets in the jar competition, and hot food and refreshments.

Didcot Youth Greens won the Under-11s contest after fighting off GFA Enfield Lions on penalties after a scoreless final, whilst Botley Boys Purple won the Under-10s contest.  For Didcot it was extra special as this is the very first football tournament they have ever won and extra poignant to remember as a charity tournament.
