An Evening of Play2Giving 4 Entertaining 2015 Sponsored by Johnsons Cars Oxford
Play2Give in collaboration with the Paediatric Eye Fund held another 'Evening of Play2Giving 4 Entertaining' on the night of Saturday, 21st February 2015. All proceeds raised benefits Headway Oxfordshire alongside the PEF. A grand fantastic £572.40 was raised by the party-goers!
About the benefiting charities:

The Paediatric Eye Fund: within the Oxford Eye Hospital of the John Radcliffe raises funds for research, equipment and development into children with debilitating eye diseases. Play2Give raised £1,101 for the PEF throughout 2014. This helped towards the funding of a specialist piece of medical equipment known as a RET-CAM, which is used to photograph the retina of infants with a range of disorders, including Retinopathy of prematurity, shaken baby injury and cancer of the retina.

Headway Oxfordshire: Oxfordshire's very own brain injury charity supporting adults with brain injuries and their families. HWO provides practical support, advice and rehabilitation at the Activity & Rehabilitation Centre (ARC) in Kennington, Oxford and through community support outreach. The money raised from the night for HWO will contribute towards the current big fundraising appeal of £200,000 to redevelop the ARC into purpose-built, modern facilities for the ever increasing numbers of service users they help and support.
We were pleased for the second year running to have had Johnsons Cars Oxford sponsor this event so that all money raised was donated 100% to these two fantastic charities. We are incredibly indebted to the company based on Botley Road, Oxford for their wonderful support for yet another year after they sponsored 2014's event!
The evening's entertainment included a fantastic disco provided by Utopia Disco, a raffle of 21 prizes, buffet provided by Sainsbury's Didcot and the bar was open. And a fantastic five took part in a challenge only for the bravest of the brave - a sponsored chilli-eating contest. Thanks to our brilliant warriors who fought the red hot idea - Chris Walker, Phil Webber and Karl Saunders, all employees of Sainsbury's Didcot, as well as Alfie Dallas and Jayton Garnett. The winner was Phil Webber who managed to hold out and eat the hottest.
There was the most amazing spectacular fireworks display that Didcot has ever seen provided and sponsored by Illusion Fireworks. Our hugest of thanks to Karl Mitchell-Shead and his team for providing fireworks at no cost which made this evening extra special for all to that attended!
