Oxford Children's Hospital Charity - reg. charity 1175809
We have supported the Children's Hospital, based at the John Radcliffe, since we were founded in 2007. The Children's Hospital is a cause very close to our founder Andrew Baker's heart after undergoing brain surgery aged 12, which spurred his inspiration on to raise funds for the hospital in 2003. We have currently raised over £69,000 to date, funding all the added extras from medical equipment to additional patient comforts, toys and games and innovative research into childhood illnesses, that only fundraising provides. As well as sponsoring a patient room in our name on the teenage ward unveiled in 2017, in 2017 nearly £6,000 we raised helped to fund cutting edge bedside monitors for every child's bed within the hospital and intensive care areas. Sobell House Hospice - reg. charity 1118646
Sobell has been one of our three key charities since late 2020. All fundraising and all our support for Sobell House Hospice is in the honour and memory of Angela Norris. Angela was the mother of Luke and Matthew Norris, who are part of our executive team, who was treated so wonderfully by Sobell nurses for her palliative care to stage 4 lung cancer at home in her final few months before passing away. So far in her memory we have raised over £450 for the hospice, through events such as our very first Didcot Mini Festive Market and raffles. Sobell House Hospice affects the lives of so many facing terminal illnesses and the impact on their loved ones, so we are delighted to support such an incredible institution in her honour. sobellhospice.org.uk
