ITV Fundraiser of the Year Finalist
Andrew was a regional ITV Fundraiser finalist
In September 2019 we were thrilled to find out that our founder and leader Andrew Baker had been selected as one of four finalists in the 'ITV Fundraiser of the Year' contest in the Meridian region, as part of the annual Pride of Britain Awards.
Following one of a few nominations that was received for Andy, ITV Meridian chose Andy as one of four finalists to be considered as the regional winner, who would go on to represent Meridian West at the star-studded Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards ceremony later in the year.
You can watch Andy's very moving and inspiring finalist film, shown on 30th September 2019, below.

ITV Meridian said:
"Andrew Baker is an amazing young man, who, despite suffering from a brain injury since birth, spends his time raising money for charities in Oxfordshire. His condition means he faces daily challenges but he says his motivation drives him on and to date he's raised around £175,000 for good causes." |
Unfortunately it was a tough decision for the judges to make, with celebrity Paul O'Grady doing the honour to choose just one winner out of the four deserving contenders.
It was a close result, with Andy narrowly missing out on the title, but he can be one very proud and well deserved runner-up for 2019 as much as we are proud of him! You may not won Andy, but to everyone who knows you and who was championing you, you were Didcot's winner - and who knows you may be nominated again in the future for ITV Fundraiser of the Year. A huge thank you to all those involved in the day of filming for Andy's finalist film - Headway Oxfordshire, Nathan Swift at Ronald McDonald House Oxford, Andy, and Ann, Andy's mum, and a huge big thank you to all those including Amanda Mann who nominated Andy! |
