Sainsbury's Sponsored Stroll Supporting Play2Give

Sunday February 1st 2015
Didcot - Upton and back with pub pit stop
Come and join a gentle stroll through South Oxfordshire countryside with Sainsbury's Didcot and make life better for those less fortunate.
Our friends at the supermarket have set the date for this 6-mile sponsored walk - which will include a pub pit stop - and everyone is welcome to join! Image showing planned route below
What better way to spend a cold winter's afternoon than that on Sunday, February 1st by wrapping up warm and toasty and taking a Sunday stroll in the spirit of charity and supporting some good causes through Play2Give's fundraising campaign.
You could dress in fancy dress as well - the possibilities are endless but most of all raise lots of money for good causes!
We are hugely indebted to Sainsbury's Didcot for setting up this walk as part of their year's worth of commitment to supporting Play2Give, after we were chosen by the store's colleagues as their fundraising partner throughout 2014 - 2015. As well as colleagues taking on this 6-mile walk from Didcot to Upton and back along the disused railway line, we would love to see anyone generally from the community at large join us on this gentle breeze of a doddle way raising funds for Oxford Children's Hospital, Headway Oxfordshire and the John Radcliffe's Paediatric Eye Fund - all charities of which Play2Give tirelessly raises funds.
This is the supermarket's kick start to 2015 in their fundraising calendar for P2G and it is hoped that every walker will aim to raise a minimum £20 in sponsorship - it could be colleagues, family, friends, neighbours, and each walker that takes part this could raise a good few hundred pounds and aid these worthwhile charities. Set up your online sponsorship page here
The walk will of course start at 12.30pm from where better than Sainsbury's itself, in the Orchard Centre, and then ending up at The George and Dragon pub, on Reading Road, Upton, for well deserved drinks and grub. Image showing planned route below
