Superheroes Colour Fun Run
Our Colour Fun Run was a runaway success!
More than 120 joined us for our family fun run with a dash of colour along the way! What an amazing afternoon our first ever Superheroes Colour Fun Run with Style Acre it was on August 22nd. Dressed many in fancy dress families, individuals and those supported by Style Acre channelled their inner superhero be it a caped crusader, an NHS or an emergency services hero or simply just with a cape they all walked, ran, wheeled, jogged or flew around the 'S' shaped course at a brilliant turn out to Boundary Park in Didcot. |

We was proud to team up with our friends at the amazing Style Acre, a charity based in Wallingford which supports young people and adults with learning disabilities including autism to bring this brand new event to life in Didcot, to raise money for both charities and we was all delighted with the response. We was also incredibly lucky with the weather, as it remained dry and not a spot of rain in sight!
This event was our most bright, colourful and vivid one in our history at Play2Give - and it was a pleasure to team up with the superb Style Acre to join forces and bring a charity fun run with a difference, which saw all ages and abilities including those with disabilities take part. We even had a 17-month old baby join in the fun, and some well behaved little dogs too!

We even had the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Didcot, Councillors Mocky Khan and Pam Siggers, take part with their families and both certainly got into the spirit of the occasion, dressed up, busted out some dance moves in the most fun funky and energetic warm-ups provided by Pure Gym PTs, and a huge thank you to Mocky as Mayor for handing out the medals.
Wallingford Radio and AV Events compered and provided all the music and the commentary bringing the event alive adding to an amazing atmosphere bringing extra special pizazz to the occasion. All proceeds raised from the day will be split between Play2Give (raising money for Headway Oxfordshire, Sobell House, Oxford Children's Hospital and other good causes) and Style Acre, so a very huge thank you for being your own Superheroes and helping raise money for two fantastic and award-winning local charities. In total, £549 was the profit raised - and the amount will hugely help both our incredible fundraising organisation and for Style Acre to enhance the lives of those with learning disabilities. We are now already looking forward to bringing you the second Superheroes Colour Fun Run with Style Acre next year, and we are excited that planning has begun. A date for next year's event will be announced soon! There are many wonderful photos and videos from the day, these can be viewed on this page! |
