THANK YOU 🫶
2024 and 14 different charities and organisations, countless individuals, over 6.5k worth of Christmas presents, over 1,300 Easter eggs, Lounge Aid and over £23,000 donated out from funds raised to selected children, health, and disability causes including £15,000 to our local children’s hospital
It has been another busy, action-packed, and successful year with many new records set, too.
After another incredible fundraising year for us, we share how your support has helped benefit our local community.
We are delighted to share that 14 charities and organisations in total all benefited thanks to your generosity and support.
They were:
Oxford Children’s Hospital Oxford Head Injury Service
Sobell House
Didcot Foodbank
Footsteps Foundation
Home-Start Oxford
Home-Start Southern Oxfordshire
Oxfordshire Foster Care Association
SSNAP (Support for the Sick Newborn and their Parents)
Summerfield House, Abingdon
Thomley
TRAIN – Inspiring Young People
Viking House, Oxford and countless individuals and some local families in crisis.
From to our first Christmas Market at Milton Hill House and not even storm darragh could stop the crowds, to individuals sponsored walks and marathons and a record-breaking, biggest and best ever toy collection that celebrated its tenth anniversary, our first ever sell-out quiz night with RDProductions and Courtyard by Marriott Oxford South, made it snow literally over the Courtyard by Marriott, 8 raffles and 8 tombolas, 4 bingo nights, sell-out parties, bake sales, gaming marathons, book launches and sweating up the miles with spin biking, to a 24-hour darts marathon, partying in a licence to thrill Bond style with our record-breaking and best ever fifth gala ball to a scorching hot 13th football tournament, and being a Didcot pub’s charity of the year, phew it hasn’t half been another incredible Play2Give year, and together you have helped us to help others. Our good work also saw us nominated for the Didcot Town Council John Eldridge Award for Voluntary Service.
Your generosity means that the lives of so many from children and adults, including those with disabilities, those with illnesses, children, and families in hospital, to the vulnerable with brain injuries, terminal illnesses to foster children in care and many more have in ways been changed, transformed or saved for the greater good.
We say an enormous thank you!
Whether it’s pounds raised or gifts given out this Christmas, each and every penny and every contribution helps widely, all spreading cheer, joy, and smiles in doing so.
We are funding some wonderful projects thanks to your support as £15k from 2023 is confirmed to be funding a new, much-needed Echo probe machine for children’s cardiac care at the Oxford Children’s Hospital, we’ve funded Christmas activities and lunches for service users at Oxford Head Injury Services alongside the upkeep of it’s activity and rehabilitation centre to money for Sobell House helping to fund the much needed refurbishment of a family room at the hospice, and so much more. Funds we have most recently provided this year to the Childrens Hospital from our 2023 £100k landmark year will also be helping to fund a very exciting artwork project on the teenage ward, and we look forward to sharing more details of this fantastic project once we have it.
And, by October Andy reached a momentous lifetime total of over £30k raised in 10 years for Oxford Head Injury Services.
We look forward to 2025 and the year ahead as many of our popular annual events such as our football tournament and gala ball will return, our 5th Easter egg appeal will launch in February and we will be continuing in changing, transforming, and saving lives across Oxfordshire, and, of course Sleigh2Give will return for its 11th Christmas.
We look forward to your continued wonderful support in 2025!
