2003 footy tournament nets in almost £6k ⚽️

Published: 19th October 2023

What a superb match of the day that was!

A big thank you to everyone who was involved in our 12th football tournament this summer.

Thanks to all of our tremendous teams, supporters, stall holders, sponsors and teams’ supporters, refs, and of course the wonderful Wallingford Sports Park who hosted us again, close to £6,000 was netted in from this year’s fundraising tournament.

This year’s event on a scorching July Sunday saw an amazing 26 teams take part – from barbers to groups of mates to local businesses to bereaved dads, other charities and groups – all take part to help us in changing, transforming, and saving lives across Oxfordshire, and beyond.

This year’s footballing fun fest raised £5,989.40 in total – the second best and highest total raised ever in the event’s history, so we are thrilled.

We would also like pay tribute to all the volunteers, and companies and individuals who so generously donated raffle prizes, Time 2 Bounce and Emma’s glitter tattoos, our first aid, and of course the event team, our Patron, MP David Johnston, for popping by and presenting the Top Fundraising Team Cup, David Child & Naomi Stewart Hale from Oxford Hospitals Charity for all of their support in the lead up to, and on the afternoon for presenting the finalists medals and the winners cup, our friends Hospital Radio Cherwell for music and sound support and our organisers who all helped make the day run seamlessly.

Wallingford Sports Park is a perfect venue with such fabulous facilities, and their generosity in hosting us as well as providing the food and drink on the day really is much appreciated.

And our thanks to sponsors Church Robinson Estate Agency in Didcot for sponsoring the event and, in particular, the medals.

Thanks to all of these amazing businesses, individuals and everyone who made it so brilliant, this amount will go such a long way making an enormous difference and impact on the lives of others to the good causes whose lives we touch through our incredible efforts, including Oxford Children’s Hospital.

Once again, a great BIG THANK YOU.

It was a day full of such tremendous spirit, communities coming together for the love of the beautiful game and such brilliant support all round.
