2022 Review: March

2022 was certainly the most successful year for our charity yet in our 15-year history, and here we are looking back at some of the highlights of our milestone fifteenth anniversary year.

Our 15th year was an incredible year, another busy and action-packed year and not to rest on our laurels, we also raised the most amount of money in funds alone with over £22,000 raised and the most amount of gifts donated as part of our eighth Sleigh2Give Christmas appeal, too.

And, to celebrate our 15th year in true style, and we love a good old knees up and party, we held our third gala ball, which was held at Didcot civic hall.

Our Hollywood gala was another sell-out success and saw over 150 guests attend, to come together, celebrate all of our amazing successes and achievements in changing, transforming and saving lives across Oxfordshire and beyond, and saw everyone dressed in their finest suits and frocks to also help raise lots of money for our charity.

Over £3,650 was raised in profit from the occasion, and with the raffle bringing in over £1,300 alone on the night, we was able to give back to four local charities that is close to the heart of our organisation with Oxford Hospitals Charity, Headway Oxfordshire, SSNAP and Sobell House all benefiting.

Our third ball was also held in the memory of a late supporter, Angela Norris, who sadly passed away in November 2020 aged 65 from terminal stage four lung cancer, and so we was delighted to create the annual Angela Norris Volunteering Award which was presented on the night with the first winners of the inaugural award being long-term volunteers of six years Linda and David Latter.

We are known for putting on fabulous fundraising nights be it balls, Halloween or Christmas parties, and even in the past contestants taking on sponsored chilli or doughnut eating contests as part of them.

With Utopia Disco compering and getting everyone onto the dance floor, our amazing entertainers Sparky & Sprite who was our amazing singers, and Instabooth with the photobooth making memories, alongide JamDuo adding to the ambience of the atmosphere in the drinks reception and a scrumptious three-course meal thanks to Creative Catering, our third best and biggest ever ball was the best way to start our birthday celebrations in style – and that we did!

March was also the month that saw us named Community Champions in the Didcot Town Council Awards, and a fabulous seven take on five miles in the annual Children’s Hospital OX5 fun run at Blenheim Palace, where over £505 was raised collectively under the team of P2G Heroes.
