2024 Funding Update

An update on how funds raised in 2024 was spent

Thank you to everyone who supports us, and continue to do so, in so many ways all year round.
From taking part in an event, running an event, holding an event or raffle, taking on a sponsored challenge, donating prizes for our fundraising raffles and tombolas, baking cakes, and so much more.

From donating to our annual Christmas Sleigh2Give and Easter egg appeals, alongside our wonderful small team of volunteers and our trustees, we are always incredibly thankful and indebted to our amazing community.

From our 2024 funds alone we were able to provide around £23,000 to our selected partner beneficiaries who all benefited from our wide calendar of events, tombolas, raffles and more. We also supported so many more through the provision of material items such as Easter eggs, toys and gifts all worth thousands of pounds.

We are all about changing, transforming, and saving lives and we do this in abundance and focus in our mission particularly on children, health, and disability causes.

Here is an update of how we spent the funds from 2024 we awarded:

  • Oxford Head Injury Services: £3,210 – Funding a sensory room at the activity and rehabilitation centre in Kennington. Once complete, the sensory room will be a much needed and tranquil space for brain injury service users to spend time away in relaxation and for sensory activities including mindfulness. ‘Andy’s Room‘ will be dedicated in thanks to our £30k over a decade, and will be ready later in the year.
We also provided £3,408.68 last November with a share from our 007 Ball last September which provided festive wellbeing activities and Christmas lunches for all three groups for service users and carers to enjoy.
  • Sobell House: £5,323 – Funded a specialist end-of-life ambulance service as part of the Extra Mile Appeal to provide urgent, specialist transportation for patients receiving end-of-life care, for patients who urgently need it 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to make those precious final moments count.
  • Oxford Children’s Hospital: £8,055 including £1,055 raised with Gweeples – Extra-ventricular drainage system for children’s neurosurgery (project to be confirmed) plus £667.50 raised as a team in the OX5RUN 2024 helping to fund play areas, sensory equipment, medical technology and patient comforts.
  • Footsteps Foundation: £100 – we provided £100 from funds raised by our tenth anniversary Christmas Sleigh2Give appeal so that children, receiving tailored-made Neurological physiotherapy, at the specialist centre in Dorchester-on-Thames received festive cheer
  • SSNAP (Support for the Sick Newborn and their Parents): £915 – twin cot tent canopy and a specialist camera for the delivery suite to capture the first images of babies separated from their mothers prior to being cared for in the neonatal intensive care unit.
  • Viking House, Oxford: £398.97 brought 2 pedal go-karts and a 6 seater wooden picnic table for the children’s respite centre new outdoor garden. Viking House is a specialist respite centre for children and young people with disabilities.
  • Entertainment items for The Play2Give Room at Oxford Children’s Hospital: Our sponsored patient room on the teenage ward received a bubble fish lamp for patients staying in with sensory needs, a PS5 complete with games and accessories, as well as a range of Nintendo Switch games for all teenage patients across Melanie’s Ward, and all worth over £854.

Last December we reached over £30,000 raised for Oxford Head Injury Services across a decade of support, and we will officially be celebrating this landmark total at our Play2Give’s Night at the Oscars Ball 2025. Tickets are on sale.

Once again, an enormous thank you to everyone who made these donations possible, making such a huge impact to the lives of so many, to be felt for years to come.
