£15k for Oxford Childrens Hospital ✨️

Here is a fantastic feelgood Friday post…
Earlier this month, some of the team, along with Billy, from Driving Miss Daisy Didcot – who adopted us in 2021 as their charity partner – headed to the Oxford Children’s Hospital to present a gigantic great big cheque for the funds raised last year.
In 2023, we were able to raise an amazing £15,000 plus!
This was funds raised by a wide catalogue of fun, exciting, diverse and fantastic events from our great gatsby ball to our 12th football tournament at Wallingford Sports Park, party on the park in Didcot host by Boundary Park, rock and roll bingo nights, our Didcot Festive Market and more.
From Christmas and Halloween Parties, a ladies night to numerous tombola stalls, raffles and more, it all contributed to us providing our biggest ever donation in history to the childrens hospital in what was our biggest ever jam packed year!
We also had a team of superheroes take part in last year’s #OX5RUN at Blenheim Palace, raising a further £1,376!
The money in total is enough to fund by P2G an extra-ventricular drainage system – a very special piece of kit – to save youngsters’ lives receiving brain surgery.
Founder Andy, who, along with his mum and Matt, one of our trustees, represented all of our team to present the massive cheque to Jamie, the hospital engagement manager and the play specialists.
Funding a very special project like this for the children’s hospital and the advances of youngsters receiving life changing brain surgery is extra special to us.
Andy underwent brain surgery, aged 12, at the hands of the craniofacial unit, and at birth his life was saved after being born with brain injury and spending his first few days attached to tubes and wires in an incubator, fighting for life in neonatal care.
So, being able to dedicate these funds to such a project is such a fitting way, and a great finale to the celebrations of our lifetime £100k raised for Chox last year.

And thank you to of course all of the amazing superheroes 🦸♂️🦸♀️ from doctors and nurses to play therapists, radiographers and more at Chox who are champions 🏆 all year round
We look forward to hearing updates of the EVD system coming into place in due course, and sharing an update with you all.
In total, to date since 2002, just for the Children’s Hospital alone, we have raised over £116,800! 🫶
