Play2Give founder receives MBE with investiture at Windsor Castle
Back at the end of last year, our charity made the headlines when our founder, Andy Baker, was announced as a recipient in the 2021 New Year Honours.
We are delighted that on Tuesday (October 12th), Andy travelled to Windsor Castle for his very special day, accompanied by his mother and carer, Ann, for his investiture which was host by the Princess Royal.
Andy was honoured with his MBE for services for charity and was one of 30 on the day bestowed with their medals in a special ceremony held in the grand ballroom at the Palace.
Andy, who is fast approaching almost twenty years of fundraising, has been making a difference in the community since he was 14, when he first set out raising money for Oxford Children’s Hospital, whilst a pupil at Didcot’s St Birinus School.
