What a day and what a tremendous Tuesday today has been for just another amazing haul of Sleigh2Give giving, all round.
Today, as well as visiting Didcot Foodbank with toys and presents for families in need, we also received hundreds more wonderful donations from two schools, a gym, and one company all in one day and we are feeling Sleigh2Gived out again!
Once again we are blown away by the tremendous Christmas spirit and generosity of our amazing supporters and community who come up trumps yet again to provide for others in need, and we couldn’t continue to be more grateful.
So much so that this weekend Andy has been referenced as “the Christmas Gift Giving King”.
The day started by visiting Willowcroft Community School who had around 80 gifts ready and waiting to be received with some of their pupils taking time out of lesson to meet Elf Andy, with Mrs Peacock who orchestrated this years collection, and as always they donated another fabulous year of toys.
Then next door to the school where it all began for Play2Give and for Andy’s fundraising back in 2003, with a trip back to St Birinus School
The student charity council committee were ready and waiting and greeted Andy and Dave so enthusiastically and were rather excited to meet a former SBS student with an MBE! Mr Purnell who lead this year’s collection again amongst the school community went above and beyond and resulted in one of the school’s biggest collections of gifts of recent years with an amazing array of new toys and board games all around the Christmas tree.
And we received an amazing haul from
DHL Accord Healthcare on Milton Park, Oxfordshire who delivered over 43 presents and two bags full of chocolate selection boxes, showing yet again that social corporate responsibility is at its finest, before going back to Snap Fitness Didcot to collect a few more toys that members had donated
Then back to lock up so that we could sift through and sort through many more before packing up boxes lots ready for our next delivery of the week to Thomley, tomorrow.
Yet another hugely busy, madcap and chaotic day but once again full of Sleigh2Give goodness and warm hearted generosity, and our hearts have yet again been filled with warmth of such kind generosity all around.
Thank you once again to everyone who has been supporting this year’s Christmas campaign, and donating so generously with such kindness and compassion for others less fortunate, vulnerable and in need. The support continues to warm our hearts, and we are on course for this year’s big milestone Sleigh2Give 10 to be the best Christmas appeal on record!
Thank you.
