Christmas party 2023 raises a record amount of money

Published: 29th December 2023

We held our 6th, and biggest, Christmas Party this December and it really was our best one yet, with a record amount raised too!
After a record breaking festive fundraising party last year, we didn’t think we would do it again but we did and this year’s event smashed all previous Christmas party records in terms of the number of guests as well as the funds raised.
This year’s festive bash also marked the approach to the end of our big milestone year raising a landmark lifetime total of £100k for the Oxford Children’s Hospital, and once again we partied at the beautiful surroundings of The Barn in Didcot.
With a record 130 (and not including the long waiting list on reserve!) in attendance it was another sell out fundraising party, and we pulled out all the stops to make it the best one yet and another enjoyable family friendly event for all.
It certainly was the best on record as, before expenses deducted, we raised a brilliant £860.80 in total through entry, raffle, glow items, cakes and with Emma’s glitter tattoos kindly donating £20 at the end of the night.
Santa, despite his hectic schedule he took time out and whizzed on by (much to the excitement of everyone) at 8pm to meet and greet all in the grotto where he took time to have pictures taken and the children received a gift.
We were honoured to have Mr Muddle with us with an amusing and brilliant magic 50 minute show and his amazing talents of balloon modelling.
We had all the strikes of the poses in the photobooth and we also thank our very own volunteer, Natalie, for her tasty festive cupcakes.
It was a busy couple of hours set up in the afternoon for many of our team to make the room look festive spectacular.
There was plenty of smiles, Christmas spirit and fun galore with some very entertaining party games (and the adults get even more competitive than the little ones including an amusing adults pass the parcel), the snowman race game with 6 nominated grown ups (including the lovely David Child from Oxford Hospitals Charity) getting a snowman makeover. We were honoured to have David, community fundraising manager, join us to join in the festivities.
A raffle with some fantastic prizes and of course lots of dancing to continue the night away!
A huge thank you to everyone who came out, attended, dug deep and donated, to all involved in the organisation, planning and preparation and on the night, and for our wonderful community for yet again getting behind our incredible little charity making a huge impact in changing, transforming and saving lives across Oxfordshire and beyond supporting a wide range of children, health and disability causes. Causes like our amazing local Children’s Hospital which benefits from all of our fundraising endeavours.
We give our biggest wholehearted thanks for all the heartwarming support we receive all year round, and who make our fun, engaging, fantastic and diverse fundraising events and activities possible and so successful.
We look forward to next year’s festive fundraising party, so do keep an eye out for the date in 2024.
