Spreading cheer, joy, and smiles for a decade as our annual Christmas Appeal launches for its 10th anniversary
What better way to mark our official birthday by date than by launching Sleigh2Give for 2024.
And this year it’s no ordinary Sleigh2Give, it’s extraordinary, as this year marks 10 years of our Sleigh2Give Christmas Appeal, and what a decade for our festive arm of our charity it has been!
Play2Give was officially born on 13th September 2007, so it seems fitting that our milestone Sleigh2Give 2024 appeal launches for its big year to celebrate in style on the date our charity was born.
From the appeal that was meant to be an one off Christmas toy collection with Sainsbury’s in Didcot in 2015, that has resulted in an annual festive drive which each year since has just grown, and grown and grown, and with it spreading plenty of cheer, joy and smiles across Oxfordshire, and further afield, through the Christmas kindness and generosity.
Sleigh2Give 10 has launched, and we need your help to make our 10th Anniversary campaign the best and biggest one yet to help make this year’s appeal the most special to mark the decade-long milestone.
In 2015 we delivered just three huge sacksful of toys to the Oxford Children’s Hospital when Santa and Elf Baker visited Robin’s Ward, at Oxford University Hospitals, now since over £320,000 has been raised in value of toys and gifts received and distributed to our incredible Oxfordshire community and, even further afield.
Last year saw our biggest drive ever, amassing the greatest number of gifts ever and the greatest number of supporters including donation points ever.
Sleigh2Give is all about spreading cheer, joy and smiles and thanks to the amazing support it receives the spirit of the appeal never fails to amaze, and over the years as well as young hospital patients and their siblings, families in neonatal care, young carers, families less well off, the vulnerable, hospices, respite centres, those with disabilities and those on low incomes are amongst those who’ve received a sprinkling of Sleigh2Give loving.
Play2Give was founded on 13th September 2007, continuing the fundraising for Oxford Children’s Hospital that our founder Andrew first started aged 14 in 2002, so what better time to launch Sleigh2Give 10 than on this date.
