It is not long to go now until this Sunday’s Oxford Hospitals Charity OX5RUN and two of our dedicated supporters are getting ready to limber up and assemble with Play2Give Heroes to tackle the five-miler fun run.
Chloe Boyne and Connor Richardson (CloCon) will be running away – ok not that sort – but around Blenheim Palace grounds on Sunday to raise big smiles with five miles for poorly children in hospital
The OX5 Run, now in its 23rd year, raises thousands of pounds each year for the Oxfors Childrens Hospital and is one of our favourite events to support, by entering a team each year to take part amongst hundreds of people.
This year we have an amazing 10-team.
This will be the third year of Chloe and Connor running it together, with the rest of our heroes that will be trotting it round the palace grounds.
For Clo, this will be her sixth (fourth in person) OX5 run so she is quite a pro now and she is quite an inspiring young lady.
Chloe has supported, volunteered with and helped to raise money for Play2Give since 2019, and she hasn’t looked back since. She has helped collectively to raise around £10k over the years with her participation in the OX5, helping to organise our football tournaments, Oxford Half and other marathons, collecting and bag packing in supermarkets and more.
Chloe’s dedication and passion for the cause was recognised when she our winner last year of The Angela Norris Play2Give Award, presented to her at last year’s 007 license to thrill ball.
All the money that the OX5 – with P2G’s help – raises funds cutting edge medical equipment, specialist staff to calm, distract and support young patients and create more welcoming and comfortable hospital spaces.
On Sunday over 600 runners, walkers, joggers, and even dogs and buggies will descend on beautiful Blenheim to raise big smiles by five miles. At P2G we have taken part for many years and helped this very special fun run raise more than £1million since it began in 2002.
