An award-winning smile goes a long way and for Didcot’s Santa it’s earnt him well-deserved nominations
Didcot Santa, otherwise known as Christopher Coates by his everyday name, has been nominated by his community of the town he lives and works in for the 2024 Didcot Town Council’s Community Awards.
Each year Santa provides joy all over the town and beyond through attending events in the community, providing grotto’s for children and residents to meet him and as part of Sleigh2Give’s annual visits attending Oxford Children’s Hospital and hospices in the lead up to Christmas armed with toys and gifts.
He has been shortlisted in the “Service with a Smile” and “Unsung Hero” categories.
Santa has been providing the joy and bringing the smiles in his local community of Didcot since 2019.
Chris is also a volunteer of our charity, and his wife, Leanne, is our secretary and deals with Santa’s diary organising the all-important man’s duties.
Well done to Chris and to us he is worthy of the appreciation, and we wish him and all of this year’s finalists all the very best for the awards evening on March 15th when the winners will be announced.
