Finalists in BBC awards celebrating community heroes

Published: 26th April 2023

We are delighted to share the news that today (June ) we found out that we have been nominated in this year’s BBC Oxford Make a Difference Awards.

The BBC Oxford Make a Difference Awards celebrates and recognises local heroes in shining a light on those individuals and groups going above and beyond in Oxfordshire, in a special award ceremony later this year and 2023 sees the second annual awards.

For a second year running we have not only been nominated but once again selected as finalists in this year’s awards, which take place at the end of September, and we could not be more proud. Last year we was finalists in the ‘fundraiser’ category.

This year once again saw hundreds of nominations made by BBC Oxford listeners and residents for these awards, and to make the finalists out of a strong set of nominations is just truly humbling.

We are thrilled to be shortlisted in the ‘community group’ category, which rewards a group of people who have genuinely helped to change the lives of others, something which we at Play2Give do every day across Oxfordshire in changing, transforming and saving lives as we have done since 2007.

We look forward to the special occasion and getting our poshest outfits out to attend, and to hearing who our fellow nominees are this year.

The glitzy awards ceremony which will see some celebrity judges attend takes place at the Kassam Stadium, home of Oxford United FC, on September 28th, as an exciting red carpet event, where all the winners across eight categories will be revealed.

Thank you to those who thought of us and nominated us, and please wish us luck.
