First Easter egg haul donated by Abingdon Waitrose shoppers

Published: 2nd April 2025

First Easter eggs pick up from Waitrose Abingdon

Yesterday we collected the first lot of Easter eggs from Waitrose Abingdon towards our 2025 Easter egg collection, all thanks to the kindness of supermarket and Abingdon shoppers and residents – and all of these donated in just around 10 days!

A huge thank you to our lovely Easter bunny, Amanda of The Lambourn in Abingdon – who is storing our Easter eggs for us – in earnest for our Oxford healthcare deliveries, for collecting all of these for us.

The superstore began their in store trolley collection for a second year running on March 20th, and it was heartwarming to see such amazing generosity of the community in Abingdon.

The supermarket on Abbey Close will continue to be a public donation point until April 11th – please donate by 12 noon. The trolley is located behind the self checkouts and is one of our many public donation points across Abingdon, Didcot, Oxford, Bicester, Grove and Wantage

Other donation points in Abingdon are Howden Insurance on the High Street and The Lambourn on Wyndyke Furlong of the business park.

Full list of donation points – as well as an online donation link, where for each donation made online we will purchase eggs – and details of how to get involved and make a difference by helping us spread Easter cheer, joy and smiles can be found at play2give.org.uk/easter-appeal

Any egg – no matter how small or large – is really appreciated and will go a long way to making a big difference in a tasty and chocolately treating way for poorly children and families in Oxford Children’s Hospital, the JR neonatal care unit, Sobell House patients and young carers across Oxfordshire

Thank you to everyone far and wide who has been donating so far, whether physically or in monetary form, and helping us make tough times for so many a bit more brighter this Easter season ❤️
