Winner of The Play2Give Volunteer Award 2024
We are delighted to announce the winner of this year’s Play2Give Angela Norris Volunteer Award 2024 is Chloe Boyne.
Chloe first began fundraising for us through her NCS – National Citizen Service summer action project in 2019. Part of a Didcot group, Chloe at the tender age of 16 chose P2G as their summer social action and she hasn’t looked back since.
Three times running nominee Chloe, who is now a sports journo intern for ESPN, Chloe reached her five years anniversary this August of not just being a supporter but a volunteer too, in particular an integral organising member of our annual football tournaments.
Having now helped organise three of our summer football events since they returned in 2022, Chloe has also run in five OX5RUNs as part of our annual Play2Give Heroes teams in the Oxford Hospitals Charity-sponsored fun run, she took part in last year’s Oxford Half Marathon and is getting ready to take part in her latest run, next month (October).
With her NCS group in 2019, through bag packs at Tesco’s Didcot, cake sales at Berro Lounge, sponsored walks and more the group raised over £560 which helped us to fund 110 thermo-cooling mugs for parents on the wards at the Oxford Children’s Hospital to enjoy a hot bevvy safely and stay by their sick child.
Over the years through her numerous fun runs, marathons, her summer social action project as a teenager and through helping to organise our football tournaments, Chloe has helped to raise over £10k over the past 5 years.
She is looking forward to another five years of fabulous fundraising and support and we are delighted to announce her as our third winner of our special inaugural annual award.
Well done Chloe, and well done to all of our fantastic finalists this year who were nominated for going and above for our charity and in the community to make our incredible work visible, and all really getting behind our mission of changing, transforming, and saving lives.
