Entries are Open for our 2024 Charity Football Tournament

Last year saw an incredible 28 teams take part in our 13th charity tournament.

Squads made up of businesses, teams of friends, barbers, and many more all competed, including our very own P2G Legends.

Do you love and breathe the beautiful game? Want to have a kick about just for fun even if your not a footy fanatic whilst raising funds to help others in need?

Entries are now open for our charity football tournament this year on Sunday, July 7th at Wallingford Sports Park.

One of last year’s teams who took part in our fun 6 a side contest was Planet IT or ‘Planet Ballers’.

The company, based on Milton Park, was captained by colleague Joseph Gray, who had played previously. The Planet team put their best feet forward to put the energy and spring onto the pitch and raising a phenomenal amount of money into the coffers.

They helped us to raise close to £6k last year which amongst those who benefited included Oxford Children’s Hospital and Oxford Head Injury Services (formerly Headway Oxfordshire).

Last year’s event after a quick early morning shower saw a gloriously warm sunny Sunday.

Planet Ballers through a mammoth fantastic fundraising effort, namely by Joe, saw the team raise (with gift aid) over £1,800!

There was no stopping them and no one came close to smashing them in the fundraising stakes.

They won last year’s ‘Top Fundraising Team’ Cup which was presented by local MP, and our Patron, David Johnston.

They raised the funds, through Joe taking on the gauntlet and a rather hair-razing one at that, by braving the shave and donning a ‘R9’ cut and after hitting his £1.5k sponsorship target, he also saw his eyebrows as well as his hair shaved off.

Joe’s incredible fundraising, as part of the tournament, earnt him, and Planet IT, a well deserved nomination for our ‘Angela Norris Play2Give Award’ 2023.

They encourage you to enter and take part this year in this fun and fantastic fundraising ⚽️ contest and help us in our mission of changing, transforming, and saving lives locally.

Players from the top three placed teams will receive medals as an appreciation and momento for taking part.

The champions will lift The P2G Paediatric Eye Fund-sponsored Cup, which, last year was lifted to glory by “Mix & Match” in a closely fought final against 2022 champs, A.D.T Decorating.

Could you help us raise funds this year for our charity? To help us in changing, transforming, and saving lives across Oxfordshire? To help support children, health and disability causes?

Don’t delay get signed up today, as we are limited to 24 teams only this year and places are literally going fast, we only have a very few left!
