It’s back! We have kick off as our Charity Football Tournament 2025 has launched to team entries.
Make it a footballing date with Play2Give on Sunday JULY 13TH as we host our 14th – yes 14th! – football tournament at Wallingford Sports Park and we are calling upon our Oxfordshire community and corporate folk to get involved by signing up to shoot in plenty of fantastic goals in one for a tiny local charity making a huge impact
Each summer our footy tournament – which began P2G in 2007 as a charity – has raised thousands of pounds and seen 225 teams & roughly 1,800 players, from junior squads to the more mature and senior of age. A wide plethora including businesses, firemen, journalists, police officers, school teachers and even chefs as well as groups of friends take on the pitch scoring over in this event’s lifetime
By 2016 this event had helped raise enough since it’s birth to see us fund our very own patient room – ‘The Play2Give Room’ – on the teenage ward at the Oxford Children’s Hospital, which is funded by Oxford Hospitals Charity, and supporters like us.
Next year in 2026 this event, and in the run up to our charity’s 20th anniversary year, will mark its 15th birthday by age which is just incredible.
Our football tournaments are a real thrill, a buzz of a day with family fun on the side for everyone from bbq and bar to face painting and inflatables, alongside a raffle and a mini tombola.
Entries are now open for our 2025 6 a side contest and squads can be made up to a maximum 10 a side, at £70 entry per team, plus we ask all teams, by registering, to commit to raising at least (if possible) £250 in sponsorship to aid our fabulous charity in changing, transforming, and saving lives across Oxfordshire.

Open to all aged 16 and over. So if you’re a budding Bale or a great Grealish in the making, why not get entering your company, your mates, school teachers, boxers, firemen, and more. Unisex teams and open to everyone.
Last year’s event raised close to £6k focused on supporting and helping children, health and disability causes.
There will be medals for all players in the top three placed teams, and this year’s champions will be presented with The P2G Paediatric Eye Fund-sponsored Cup.
There will be a cup presented for the top fundraising team, which went to the amazing ATA Logistics LTD who raised an incredible £1,300 plus.
On the day, there will also be a BBQ, bar, a raffle, mini tombola, inflatables, and face painting on the side.
