Charlie’s 55k Ultra Marathon
“Running 55km is nothing compared to the lifelong marathon of giving Andrew has undertaken. So if you can spare anything at all — seriously, even a quid — it’ll go straight towards something meaningful.”
Those are the words of Charlie Robertson, who today tackles a 55k challenge in London, raising funds for Play2Give.
Today we are thinking of Charlie from Didcot, and a local entrepreneur, who is tackling the 55km Ultra Marathon pounding the pavements of the capital with his aim in doing so to raise as much money as he can muster to support our charity.
Charlie has fundraised for us before. In 2016 he was part of a small group of daring locals who competed in a sponsored “doughnut eating contest” as part of a fundraising evening we held and has since continued to champion our cause.
“Despite living with ongoing health challenges, he never stops helping others. Whether it’s children’s health, disability support, or delivering gifts to families through his “Sleigh2Give” initiative, Andrew’s impact continues to grow — and so does his determination.”
Charlie has so far raised just shy of £100 in just a few days of setting up his fundraising page. To support Charlie and donate any quids please visit www.justgiving.com/page/charlie-robertson-55
“Andrew’s journey is one of resilience, determination, and selflessness. Born with a brain injury, he underwent major brain surgery at 12, yet came out of it with a mission: to give back to the Oxford medical teams who saved his life — not once, but twice.”
“In a nutshell, the guy has had every disadvantage thrown at him in life, and he’s an absolute legend.”
Charlie we are thinking of you today you local legend, as you take on this amazing challenge and helping us in our mission in doing so of changing, transforming, and saving lives across Oxfordshire but please keep hydrated.
Charlie is one example of supporters going above and beyond for our cause – and we are incredibly grateful, for his effort and choosing us to support along the way in his miles around the most beautiful city. We think he is a P2G Hero.
