Year of action-packed events and fundraising raises a record-breaking total
Today, we are delighted to end the year on the best news of all revealing our grand total raised through our events in 2023.
Thanks to your support, we have raised a record breaking amount in our charity’s history with over £30,000!
From a year of many sell-out and record-raising events, to a lifetime milestone total reached for one hospital to our biggest and best Christmas appeal yet, we are absolutely amazed to have raised over £32,000 in 2023!
To raise such a total, especially more so with the continued impact of the cost of living crisis, our latest end of year achievement is just mind-blowing!
We have raised £32,175.34!
We can’t say THANK YOU enough as it is all because of you our loyal and wonderful supporters and community who continually get behind us
The year that also saw us in the spring hit the magic six-figure total for the Oxford Children’s Hospital of over £100k in a lifetime of giving across 21 years. An achievement that was celebrated in spectacular style with our friends at Oxford Hospitals Charity at our Great Gatsby Ball at end of September so what better year to smash all previous records than this one.
And, with a year with some lovely recognition along the way, including in September being ‘Best Community Group’ Finalists in the BBC Radio Oxford ‘Make A Difference Awards’ and recently getting the news that we have been nominated in the Didcot Town Council Awards 2023, where we are shortlisted for the John Eldridge Award for voluntary service.
Obtaining new sponsorship from BizSpace Didcot with free storage facilities and space, helping to keep our charity productively working effectively, as our operations continue to grow, has also been an important highlight.
What a way to end out 2023 in what has been a year full of celebration and big moments
We have held 4 tombolas, 11 raffles, cake sales, ran our 12th football tournament and our fourth and best ever gala ball at the stunning location of Milton Hill House to Halloween and Christmas parties, 2 rock and roll bingo nights, a ladies night and our fourth Didcot Festive Market amongst much else.
We joined in the King’s Coronation celebration day in Didcot on a wet and soggy May Saturday, we got trivial with a quiz and chips night and we had one great big party on the park.
We’ve had our best ever 9th ‘Sleigh2Give‘ Appeal too, where we estimate to have raised around £50k in value of over 2k Christmas presents. And our best Easter appeal distributing hundreds of Easter eggs in April to children in hospitals and hospices.
Andy even got asked to do the honour of switching the Christmas Tree lights on at the Courtyard by Marriott Oxford South, and we limbered up five miles around beautiful Blenheim Palace grounds in March.
It’s certainly been another action packed and busy one, but also an exhausting but brilliant year!
Funds raised throughout each year also helps us to keep on doing more so that we can raise even more and keep on making a very real difference locally.
Once again, we salute you for helping us to help our community this year and for helping us to raise such an impressive amount surpassing all previous years to make 2023 one for the record books, and one so memorable.
If you’ve been a part of our success and this incredible year in any way, then thank you, we salute you and we wish you a happy, healthy and bright new year
Here is to 2024 and we have some of our popular events returning as well as plans for more.
We can’t wait to share it all with you
