5 years dedicated service from Chloe 🌟
Congratulations to one of our youngest volunteers for reaching a fantastic milestone in her dedication and commitment to our charity!
Chloe Boyne who now resides in London as an ESPN sports channel intern has just reached an incredible 5-year anniversary in being a volunteer with Play2Give.
For Chloe, it all started in August 2019 when she embarked upon the NCS programme and as part of her Didcot group’s citizenship they chose Play2Give as their summer social action project charity, and Chloe has not looked back since.
From helping to organise three football tournaments since, to taking on the Oxford Hospitals Charity OX5RUN under P2G every year since 2020, and last year she along with her partner Connor also took part in the inaugural 13.1-mile Oxford Half Marathon, all to raise funds for our charity.
In September 2019 Chloe was one of our superheroes who walked an incredible 20-miles plus from Didcot Town Football Club all the way to JR as one of a number of our caped crusaders to helped to raise over £564 along the way through bucket donations from the generous public.
Her NCS social action group in the summer which Chloe lead, raised enough money – over £840 in fact – to help fund 150! thermo- cooling mugs to enable parents to relax with hot drinks on the wards and still stay close by to their sick child.
From Tesco Didcot bag packing to a sponsored walk to a bake sale at Berro Lounge these was just some of the way that Chloe’s NCS Didcot group helped to raise funds all those years ago, when she was just 16!
Chloe has attended two of our gala balls, and been twice nominated in 2022 and 2023 for our annual Play2Give volunteer/supporter award.
Now Chloe plays a central part in helping to organise and co-ordinate our annual summer football tournament, which this year raised just under £6k!
Chloe’s passion, dedication and enthusiasm has remained and all continually inspired as she says by Andy, whose story melted her heart instantly in July 2019, when her group made the decision to support our tiny charity, and what a great decision it was, as she has remained a Play2Giver for life.
We also add our congratulations as recently at the end of last month – and on the night before our 13th footy tournament – Chloe attended the Hampshire FA Grassroots Football Awards 2024, where Chloe was a fabulous runner-up in the Media Projects Programme category. A very well deserved award too.
We thank Chloe for her five fantastic volunteering years, and thank you for all she has done to date for our charity, we think she is a shining example of being a P2G Hero.
