We are delighted to be nominated in the Didcot Business & Community Awards 2016 showcasing all our fantastic work in the local community.
This year we are pleased to learn we have been nominated in not just one but two awards for the BACAs 2016 – the annual awards of the town which celebrates the very best of businesses, community groups and charities within the town and its surrounding areas.
The ‘Oscar’ style awards are a prestigious annual ceremony interspersed with performances from local acts, dance groups and singers and are presented by the Lord Mayor of Didcot. Last year Play2Give was thrilled to receive the ‘Best Fundraising Innovation/Campaign Award’ for outstanding fundraising in our work raising money through successful and innovative events and initiatives for local causes, such as the Oxford Children’s Hospital. The evening saw 12 gongs handed out with the audience entertained by acts including Didcot Phoenix Taewkondo, Wantage Silver Band and Didcot Sings Choir.
This year, we have yet again been recognised and put forward in the category of ‘Best Fundraising Innovation/Campaign’ as well as ‘Best New Partnerships & Collaborations’ Award, which includes a successful partnership with Sainsbury’s in Didcot in a fundraising drive in June to raise money for new PlayStations for the hospital’s teenage ward at the JR.
The judging panel will deliberate over the nominations and their decisions. If successful, Play2Give will find out if we have made the shortlist in either category in October and the opportunity to attend the glittering ceremony at the Cornerstone in Didcot on November 18th.
