Play2Give nominated for two prestigious charity awards

Published: 7th April 2016

We are delighted to found out that we have been nominated for not one but two prestigious Oxfordshire charity gongs.

The 2016 Oxfordshire Charity and Volunteer Awards (OCVA) evening takes place next month. We were thrilled to receive news on April 6th that we have been nominated for the biggest award of these glittering awards – ‘Charity of the Year 2015/16’ as well as ‘Best Team of Volunteers’. Yes it’s official we have a great team of volunteers!

Celebrating all that’s great about Oxfordshire’s charities, non profit groups and volunteers, and begun in 2010 by OCVA, this is the highest calibre of awards for Oxfordshire’s charitable sector. With the Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire and the High Sheriff of Oxfordshire likely to be in attendance as previous years, this is set to be a fantastic night showcasing the unsung heroes of the voluntary sector – and we couldn’t be more proud to be selected to be recognised as nominees – whether we win or not.

In 2015, as a voluntary run fundraising organisation we celebrated our most successful fundraising year ever, raising a record breaking £13,532.05 for our charities – Oxford Children’s Hospital and the John Radcliffe Paediatric Eye Fund as well as Headway Oxfordshire.  The Children’s Hospital we raised £9,439 of this total last year, and we have now raised over £46,100 over the past 8 years.

Please wish us all the best of luck for May 11th when the glittering ceremony is held at the Oxford Town Hall, and the winners in 10 categories are announced.
