St Birinus School adds £269 from festive dress down day
Today we give a Feelgood Friday shout out and a big thank you to the superb St Birinus School in Didcot.
Pupils at St Birinus School enjoyed the privilege of a festive non-uniform day last month, before Christmas, and in doing so had the opportunity to donate to Play2Give for the pleasure.
Thanks to the generosity of donations a fantastic £269 was raised!
Adding to this, each year since 2016, the school have taken part in our annual Sleigh2Give Appeal – and in 2024 the school community collected one of their biggest toy donations in recent years.
St Birinus School is where Andy’s fundraising for Oxford Children’s Hospital Appeal first began in 2002, when he was determined to raise funds with the school to help with the build of the brand new children’s hospital. As a “thank you” for his childhood care and treatment including brain surgery aged 12, Andy was driven with a dream to raise £500 – and from £1,000 with a non-uniform day, the fundraising crusade took off, and he then raised over £11,000 with the school for the hospital appeal during his time as a pupil and sixth form student.
Since 2016, the school gave continued to support Play2Give and our annual Sleigh2Give.
To date, over £3,050 has been raised in total for P2G since 2016 through non-uniform days, cake sales, it’s a knockout activities and more, continuing the good for our charity that Andy first began.
So a great big thank you to all of the school community for their latest tremendous donation and all their ongoing support, and to the school council committee who organised their collection for our tenth anniversary toy appeal last year.
Being a former St Birinus pupil for Andy their continued support and fundraising for us is extra special.
