First Easter egg appeal handover of the year to Be Free Young Carers
Today, Andy hopped (not literally!) along to Didcot Civic Hall (who is once again one of our Didcot donation points) to meet Mandy and Finlay from Be Free Young Carers to hand over around 50 Easter eggs for young carers
This is the first of the Easter egg deliveries this year, and our seasonal campaign donations was all made possible by all those who have generously donated so far to our fifth Easter Appeal – including the fabulous customers and visitors of Dunelm Didcot
This year, we hope to be able to amass up to 1,000 Easter eggs to children and families in hospitals, hospices, the less fortunate and vulnerable – including young carers
Be Free YC is a charity we have supported in the past and for Andy giving to this fabulous and growing organisation means a lot as he was a registered young carer (way back when BFYC was originally known as South & Vale Carers) in his childhood so being able to contribute in such a little but meaningful way is special and it’s always lovely how just a small gesture like gifting an egg can make to the faces of young carers who go through the most hardest of challenges and times. We also made a £150 cash donation to enable the team to go out and purchase further eggs to help with their huge target of 300 eggs!
These eggs – along with many more from their corporate partners like the Saiid Business School in Oxford – will be given out by BFYC to the children on Easter trips – so we hope these chocolate delights will help make a young carer’s day
Thank you to our wonderful supporters and our community for helping us at P2G spread lots of Easter cheer, joy and smiles as we can only give these eggs out thanks to the warm-hearted generosity of our community and appeal partners
Egg donations can be given and dropped at any of our public donation points, including the Didcot Civic Hall – full list of public donation points or how to join the appeal and get involved – at www.play2give.org.uk/easter-appeal
The support is immensely always warmly appreciated and goes such a long way.
