A great big thank you to all of these amazing local Oxfordshire schools for supporting our 11th Sleigh2Give Toy Appeal this year
Each year we are so incredibly lucky and extremely grateful to have the support of school communities uniting together to help spread cheer, joy and smiles by backing our annual Christmas present drive – some of them longstanding over many years, and each year we continue to be inspired and amazed by their efforts to collect toys and gifts for other children less privelged, less fortunate and with illnesses and healthneeds
We extend an enormous thank you to
- St Birinus School, Didcot
- Wallingford School
- Aureus School, Didcot
- Didcot Girls’ School
- St John Fisher Catholic Primary School, Oxford
- Willowcroft Community School, Didcot
St Birinus has been involved in our annual gift giving amnesty ever since Sleigh2Give began, and has long continued to support Play2Give as a charity, by raising many thousands of pounds as a whole over many years, to continue the support from the fundraising efforts that Andy Baker began aged 14 for Oxford Hospitals Charity as a year 10 schoolboy back in 2003. Wallingford School marks their 8th Christmas drive for us – and last year raised their most amount of toys from their school community ever!
We always love the enthusiasm and passion that school children have for the campaign, and it is always so heartwarming – and this year Didcot Girls School has come on board to collect toys for the very first time. DGS helped Andy raise over £3,600 back in his days as a sixth form student two decades ago, when the girls school held some exciting school fundraisers across a year to support what was Andy’s target back then to raise £20,000 to help fund the build of the Oxford Children’s Hospital
We cannot wait to visit all schools across the week of 15th December – and seeing smiles of young people putting smiles onto the faces of those less fortunate, and in hospital
Thank you to all of these wonderful education establishments and all the many other schools who have joined Sleigh2Give over the years too!
