Help our founder raise £500 for the ‘Slim Shady’ Hairdo 👱
Our Founder Andy Baker is on a mission…
And we need your help to get him to an ambitious but not impossible £500 for Play2Give.
After being given food for thought with the idea by some folk, Andy, being Andy, thought rather than just do it, why not do a brand new hairdo but by raising money for Play2Give of course in the process.
If Andy can raise £500, he will get the ‘Slim Shady‘ (or ‘Foden’ in more modern times) haircut. Attached is a mock-up of how Andy could look, after the dye job, next to the famous Eminem doo, and the word is… Andy would suit it well!
And, we’ve one of our 2025 football tournament team players from Wantage to also add thanks to, for this gauntlet that spurred Andy on, Finn, of the Hungry Horses team. To raise money towards the charity through the football tournament fundraising efforts, Finn as the captain of The Hungry Horses football team, raised, with gift aid included, over £800 by shaving his head and turned up on the morning of our 14th football tournament as ‘slim shady’.
So the challenge is on to you, our supporters and associates to help achieve this ‘very cool’ hairdo for Andy, by helping him raise £500, which once reached, he will get the cut. Play2Give of course has been a huge part of Andy’s life for two decades, by creating the charity from the fundraising he first began for Oxford Children’s Hospital aged 14, in 2002, and now 23 years later over 40 good causes and thousands of individuals have benefited from Andy and Play2Give’s tireless work, and around £600k raised through a wide range of events, activities and the value of Christmas gifts and Easter eggs.
The money P2G raises funds to support children, health, and disability causes – organisations including Oxford Head Injury Services, Sobell House, SSNAP and Be Free Young Carers are just some who benefit alongside the Oxford Children’s Hospital, and so many more.
