Special Award to Andy for 20 years of charity work

The annual Didcot Town Council Awards are held every year to celebrate those in the town doing good and great work – and Andy was a big winner on the night!

The 2021 evening, delayed due to the Covid pandemic, was finally held last Saturday at the Civic Hall recognising local heroes, and our local MP and Patron was on hand to present a special award to Andy.

MP, David Johnston OBE, who has been a Patron of ours since February 2020, attended part of the evening and was asked to present a Special Recognition Award taking Andy by surprise, to celebrate Andy’s MBE and his twenty years of charity work.

We were thrilled for Andy, and this well deserved award in recognition of his tireless two decades of fundraising for good causes.

The awards evening was host by the Didcot Mayor, councillor Mocky Khan, and saw awards given out in many categories, and Andy was also shortlisted for the Lifetime Achievement award. The award was given to Sheila Bayliss, for 35 years of service at a local pre school.

It was a fantastic night of celebration with a spectacular dance performance from the Angels Performing Arts, a buffet and a raffle was held in support of the Mayor’s two chosen charities – Play2Give and Coeliac UK.
