Lee is a walking fundraising champion

At Play2Give, we think all of our supporters are amazing, and we love that we have so many who go above and beyond for our charity, and a great example is Lee Crook.

Lee (or Walk Fatboy Walk as he nicknamed himself), from Wallingford and a team member of Sainsbury’s in Didcot, has been supporting Play2Give now for an incredible 10 years!

This July he embarked upon his latest fundraising challenge and another sponsored walk all to raise money for Play2Give, for the benefit of Oxford Children’s Hospital and so many more who benefit through our fabulous work in the community.

Over the past decade, Lee, since first meeting Andy in July 2014, has come up with and taken part in many different activities and ways to raise money, and awareness, for our cause.

Sainsbury’s in Didcot chose P2G as their local charity of the year partner in 2014 and it was through this partnership that led Lee to be motivated to do as much as he could to support our work, and our fundraising in particular for the Children’s Hospital.

From numerous sponsored walks, Movember in November 2014, to car boot sales, Easter egg raffles, and even auctioning signed replica dart shirts and more including in December 2015 walking over 20 miles cross-country whilst dressed as Santa to help deliver a couple of sacksful of toys to the children’s wards for Christmas which saw our annual festive drive, “Sleigh2Give” born, Lee has really embraced the mission of Play2Give over the past ten years. And with it, this year, his latest effort? His “one million steps in a month” this July, with gift aid included raising £2,380, he has gone in to raise and donate over £5,760 for our charity!

Such great dedication and amazing work, and his latest challenge this summer which saw him step out from walking retirement to make another real difference on the lives of young hospital patients and their families and the many more whose lives are impacted, changed and transformed every day by our great work.

Lee is just one of our many amazing individual supporters who has gone on to raise a few thousand, and we really can’t thank Lee enough for his fantastic support, fabulous funds and for his amazing dedication and passion and we think he is a #P2GHero. In 2018 he was a nominee in the Against Breast Cancer Achievement Awards.

Thank you Lee, and for helping us so much over a decade, you are a star ✨️
