Every little helps for toy appeal with the support of Didcot supermarket

Published: 21st November 2017

The Didcot Tesco supermarket is teaming up with its fundraising counterparts at Play2Give this weekend to appeal for donations of new toys for the Oxford Children’s Hospital.

The store on Wallingford Road in the town is once again supporting ‘Sleigh2Give’, the annual festive initiative of the award-winning Play2Give group, to help spread cheer joy and smiles to the young patients over the festive period.

Last year the supermarket helped Play2Give founder Andy Baker to collect more than 3,000 gifts and it is hopes this weekend’s appeal in store will help make another successful effort.

All gifts brand new and unwrapped can be left in the sleigh in the store between Friday (24th) to Sunday (26th) and all new toys and entertainment items will be delivered by Andy and fellow volunteers on the morning of December 17th to the children’s hospital with a helping hand from campaign sponsors Go Green Taxis.

The fundraising group, and whose founder Andrew recently received a Didcot BACA award for outstanding achievement, also hosts its Christmas Party at The Barn on Foxhall Road in the town on Friday from 7pm which is open to all families and children with a disco, Santa’s grotto, party games and a raffle.
