Fundraising group caps off most successful year with two charity award nominations

An Oxfordshire fundraising organisation that goes from strength to strength and has helped literally thousands since its creation has been recognised in prestigious charity awards of Oxfordshire.

Play2Give, set up in 2007 by Didcot’s Andrew Baker, 27, has gone on to donate over £47,100 over the past 8 years for a range of local chosen charities.

The group was recognised in the Oxfordshire Charity and Volunteer Awards 2016 in a ceremony held at Oxford Town Hall on the evening of May 11th where Play2Give was nominated for not just one but two awards.  Play2Give was nominated in Best Team of Volunteers as well as the biggest accolade – Charity of the Year. 

The nominations follow on from the organisation’s most successful year ever in 2015 when a record £13,532 was raised including over £9,430 to the Oxford Children’s Hospital.  

In November last year the Didcot Business and Community Awards (BACAs) celebrated Play2Give’s work with the win of Best Fundraising Innovation Award.

Play2Give celebrates its big 10th anniversary next year and has plans for lots of events and activities, including a celebratory charity ball, as part of a campaign to raise £10,000 in 10 as part of its special landmark anniversary and any company, trust or grant giving scheme wishing to help sponsor the group next year should email play2give@hotmail.com or see play2give.org.uk
