This summer, the team at Jones Robinson estate agents are stepping out of their offices and into the water.
On 18th June 2025, staff from across all six branches including Didcot, will take on a 34-mile swim challenge in support of five local charities, including Didcot-born Play2Give. The distance reflects the stretch between their Newbury and Devizes offices and will see the team swim a combined 2,735 lengths of a 20-metre pool.
Jones Robinson is an independent estate agency with offices across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire. This is the first year Play2Give have been selected as one of their charity partners.
A Shared Commitment to Community
Play2Give is driven entirely by volunteers and powered by community spirit. Since the charity’s first football tournament in 2007, the organisation continues the fundraising efforts for Oxford Children’s Hospital that the founder Andy Baker, inspired by his own childhood treatment, began aged 14 whilst at school in 2002, the charity group have raised close to £600,000 and supported more than 40 good causes, and mostly focused on children, health and disability, across Oxfordshire and the surrounding area.
Jones Robinson were particularly inspired by the work the Play2Give volunteers do supporting Sobell House and the Oxford Children’s Hospital, and wanted to make a difference close to home by supporting a charity that serves the Oxfordshire community. The Didcot branch, based on Foxhall Road, is proud to be backing a cause that has had such a lasting local impact.
Recently, and as examples of some of the many ways the charity continues to make a lasting difference from last years incredible efforts, Play2Give has been able to give over £3,200 to benefit brain injured adults receiving care and support from Oxford Head Injury Services by funding the creation of a dedicated ‘chill-out room’. Over £5,000 to fund a specialist ambulance for Sobell House patients, and over £900 for the benedit of neonatal babies and their families in the special care baby unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital, as well as funding provisions and medical equipment at Oxford Children’s Hospital.
